Retreat
The retreat is coming quickly (April 29-May 1) and in order to get everything squared away, the last day to register is this coming Sunday, April 24.  The $30 payment is also due by Sunday and if you can't make that deadline, please let Pastor Donny know ASAP.

Also, each student under the 18 years of age needs to have a parental consent form signed and returned to Donny.

Anyone planning to participate in the climbing wall also needs to have a waiver form signed and returned.

Service Opportunity
We will be cleaning up the yard and flower beds for Marilyn McCoy this Saturday April 23.  Meet at the church at 2:30 and bring some money for ice cream afterward.

Doors of Encouragement
The kind folks associated with Doors of Encouragement have asked if we would be able to help remove doors from the downtown area this Sunday April 24 at 6:30.  Please meet in front of the courthouse if you can make it.

They also need a few of us that can carry doors to help on Tuesday evening at the auction, to help load into buyers' trailers.

Doors of Encouragement

The kind folks that work with Doors of Encouragement have asked if we would be available this Sunday, April 24 at 6:30 pm to help remove doors from the downtown area and unload them at the fairgrounds.  This is a change from the previous announcement which stated this would happen on Monday.  It is now Sunday evening.

Tuesday evening is the auction and they were wondering if we could provide 3-4 guys to help move doors to people's trailers and vehicles.  

If you can help out with either of these opportunities, let Pastor Donny know via text, email or in person.

Announcements 4/13/2016

Calstumi Retreat
Coming up, we are really looking forward to the Calstumi Retreat.  Salt and Light students are invited to take part in the retreat at Marmon Valley Farms.  The cost is $30 and the retreat begins at 6pm on Friday April 29 at the farm.  It will conclude on Sunday May 1 at 12:30pm and the students can be picked up at Marmon Valley.  Each student under 18 yrs old must have a Parental Consent Form signed.  The consent forms along with signups will be available in the church foyer on Sunday April 17 and April 24.  They will also be available online shortly.

Below is the suggested packing list:

1.)  Bible- Must bring a Bible, you will be using it a lot!

a.     If you don’t have a Bible, one will be provided

2.)  Pen and Notebook

3.)  Bedding- sleeping bag or sheets and blanket and pillow

a.     Each student will have bunk to sleep on

4.)  Clothes- Dress appropriately for outdoor and indoor activities

a.     You will need 1 pair of closed-toed shoes

5.)  Toiletries

a.     Bathrooms are available in each cabin- Please bring the necessary things to ward off the stink!

6.)  Snacks

  Doors of Encouragement- On the evenings of Monday April 25 and Tuesday April 26, the folks at Doors of Encouragement have asked if we would be able to help remove doors from the downtown area on Monday and then help move doors during the auction on Tuesday.  If you are available to help out, please let Pastor Donny know by Sunday April 24.

Our Faith In God- Part 2

A Drive On God's Side
Having faith in God can be hard at times because you don't know what God has in store for you.

Does Jesus have the steering wheel of your life?

Are you going to trust Him no matter where He takes you?

Some times Jesus takes us out of our comfort zones, He takes us to places unknown. Places where you don't know what's going on. The only thing you can do is turn your eyes to Jesus! He knows what's up, what's to the side, what's behind, what's down, and what is ahead!
Jesus is great with directions, He'll never get you lost and He'll never leave you behind, or forget about you!

Be careful you're not a backseat driver, Jesus knows what He's doing! Just have faith in Him!

With Jesus in the driver seat, you won't have regrets! The road may be bumpy at times but He'll keep you safe!
Just buckle up and get ready for a life in God's hands!

Our Faith In God- Part 1

Faith;
is the confidence, trust and belief in something or someone.

As Christians our faith is in God!
Faith equips us to take action in this world, it helps us follow Christ and guides us to do what we are called to do & That's to be on fire for Him.

When we choose to have faith in Christ, we are giving our life and will to Him. Gods will is not the easy route. Having Faith in Gods will is what makes things possible! Having faith in God is how things heal & mend. Christ leads our weary minds and lost souls in the right direction and all we have to do is follow Him!

Think about your faith in God, it needs to be your world view and focal point of your life. Is what you're doing God's will? Is it glorifying Him? Will this help me grow in my faith and walk with Jesus?

Think about those things! And remember faith doesn't make things easy it makes them possible!

Announcements 4/6/2016

Upcoming Events:

April 10- Work day at Carl and Flo Yoder's Farm.  We will meet in Calstumi Corner after the service, eat some pizza and head to their farm.  Things to bring: work clothes and work gloves.

April 25 & 26
      Doors of Encouragement is looking for volunteers in these two evenings to help load the doors from downtown on the 25th and to help people load the doors onto their trailers during the auction on the 26th.  If you are able to help, let Donny know.

April 29-May 1- Retreat
             The retreat will be held at Marmon Valley Farms.  The cost is $30 and is due by Sunday April  24.  We will be taking part in activities and having discussion sessions.  If we get 10 or more people, we can do the horseback trail ride for an extra $25/person.  See Donny to sign up.  

Next Wednesday, we continue the "Seekers Series"
